The objectives of this committee are:

  • To promote standards of excellence in research mentorship and review mentor-mentee matching processes as requested (e.g., Shapiro, Residents).
  • To make recommendations to the Department of Medicine chair regarding research honors/awards.
  • To organize Research Day and/or other events in such fashion as to highlight the exemplary research and scholarship in the department.
  • Regularly attend planning meetings and actively engage in the event planning process.
  • Assist in identifying session chairs and other event facilitators.
  • Review abstracts and recruit poster session judges.
  • Attend events and/or other event-related functions as requested.
  • To act as division liaisons, facilitating the dissemination of information about programs and services available to residents and fellows.

Meetings: One-hour virtual meetings occur in Spring (March or April) and Fall (October or November). Occasionally, an ad hoc meeting is scheduled.

DOM mid-career, senior, and emeritus faculty who have an interest in research education and mentoring. 

Terms

3-year term, with the opportunity to renew for another three years.
