Professional Activities

Dr. Justine Yang Bruce is a faculty member in the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care within the Department of Medicine. Dr. Bruce holds numerous leadership positions both within the UW and in her field at large. She is Director of the VA Medical Oncology Clinical Research Program, Chair of the Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee, University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, and a member of numerous professional organizations such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG), National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)and the Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium (BTCRC). Dr. Bruce is a journal reviewer for Cancer and Biologics: Targets and Therapy.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Bruce’s clinical interests include medical oncology, head and neck cancers, and palliative care medicine.

Research Interests

Dr. Bruce serves as site principal investigator for multiple phase-1 clinical trials. She is also Co-Leader for grants through the Wisconsin Head and Neck SPORE, which seeks to identify and translate new scientific discoveries from the laboratory into significant and durable treatment advances for patients with head and neck cancers. These advances strive to increase head and neck cancer cure rates and diminish normal tissue toxicities.
