Professional Activities

Dr. Ambar Haleem is a faculty member in the Division of Infectious Disease within the Department of Medicine and serves as the Director of the inpatient Surgical-Infectious Disease service at UW Health. As an infectious disease specialist, Dr. Haleem focuses on diagnosis and treatment of communicable diseases in inpatient and ambulatory settings. Together with colleagues in the Department of Surgery, Dr. Haleem has jointly established a multi-disciplinary wound care clinic within the UW Health Burn Center. She is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America. Dr. Haleem also serves on the Medical Examining Board of the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. 

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Haleem’s clinical interests include infectious disease with emphasis on musculoskeletal infections and diabetic foot infections.

Research Interests

Dr. Haleem’s clinical research includes clinical trials of surgical antimicrobial practices.
