Professional Activities

Dr. John McCartney is a faculty member in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine within the Department of Medicine. As the director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship, he is actively engaged in the education of medical students, housestaff and fellows. Dr. McCartney serves on the Department of Medicine Education Committee and is a member of the UW Health Clinical Track Promotions Committee. He has received numerous awards, including the UnityPoint Health–Meriter Medical Staff Collegiality Award, a UW Health Provider Champion Award, two Patient Experience Physician Champion Awards, a Wisconsin Medical Society Superhero of Medicine Award, two Community Educator Awards from the Internal Medicine housestaff and the Department of Medicine Jeffrey E. Grossman Professionalism Award.
