Dr. Bennett Vogelman is a faculty member in the Division of Infectious Disease within the Department of Medicine. As Vice Chair for Education and the Program Director of the UW Residency Program, Dr. Vogelman fosters the training and career development of medical students, postgraduates, and assistant professors. He is one of the most experienced and awarded clinician teachers in the School of Medicine and Public Health and his efforts have been recognized regionally and nationally. Among his many accolades, Dr. Vogelman has received the University of Wisconsin Chancellors Teaching Award, the Department of Medicine Mentor Award, the American College of Physicians Laureate Award, and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s Parker Palmer Courage to Teach Award, and the designation of being the director of an Education Innovation Program.
Dr. Vogelman served many years as the Co-Director of the UW Hospital and Clinics HIV/Immunology Clinic, overseeing the care of individuals with HIV infection. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Disease Society of America and has been named to the Best Doctor in America list multiple times.
Dr. Vogelman’s clinical interests include the infectious diseases consult service and the care for HIV patients.
