Professional Activities

Dr. Daniel Mulkerin is a faculty member in the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care within the Department of Medicine. He serves as Medical Director of the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC), and its' regional cancer center network, which includes affiliate sites in communities within Wisconsin and Illinois. Dr. Mulkerin has been named to Best Doctors in America multiple years and has been recognized for his outstanding clinical care, receiving the UW Health Patient Experience Physician Champion Award, UW Health Physician Excellence Regional Services Award, and the UW Health Patient Experience Physician Champion Award. He is the Chair of the UWHC Oncology Operations Committee and a Member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and the Association of American Cancer Institutes, providing service at a national level. He is also a reviewer of several top publications in the field, including Oncology, Cancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology, Annals of Surgery, and Cancer Investigation.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Mulkerin’s clinical interests include the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies, including liver and pancreas cancers. He is actively involved in the development of new therapies for patients with these diseases.

Research Interests

Dr. Mulkerin serves as the group leader for the UWCCC gastrointestinal cancer clinical research team. In this role, he oversees a broad portfolio of clinical trials, assuring patients access to innovative care.
