Professional Activities

Dr. Jeannina Smith is a faculty member in the Division of Infectious Disease within the Department of Medicine. She is the medical director of the Transplant Infectious Disease Program at UW Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Smith is also the assistant block leader for the Invaders and Defense block of Phase 1 of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health’s ForWard curriculum for medical students, and the program director of the Infectious Disease Fellowship in the Department of Medicine. She is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American Society of Transplantation ID Community of Practice and Women’s Health Community of Practice.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Smith specializes in infections in recipients of solid-organ transplants and other immune compromised hosts. She also has a special interest in fungal infections.

Research Interests

Dr. Smith has research interests in infections in transplant recipients and other immunocompromised hosts, and fungal infections and antifungal pharmacology.
