Housing is free and has been arranged for you. You may check in any time after 1 p.m. on the day prior to the start of your rotation. Upon arrival at Gundersen Health System, please report to the Security Office located in the hospital. If arriving before 9 p.m., please enter through the main doors of the hospital and ask the Information Desk for directions to the Security Office. If arriving after 9 p.m. you will need to enter through the Emergency Room. Ask the Emergency Department for directions to the Security Office. The security officer will issue your apartment key. Check out time is 9 a.m. on the day your rotation ends. After vacating your apartment, please leave your apartment key in the Medical Education Office. Here is the information regarding your housing: You will be assigned to a furnished Swift Creek apartment or a townhouse, both located within walking distance of the medical center.

Swift Creek / Townhouse: Your housemate(s) may be either male or female. Although we try to make same gender assignments, as often as is possible, it cannot always be arranged. Please know that there are locked doors on all bedrooms and bathrooms such that your privacy is assured. Both locations are fully furnished, but you will need to bring pots, pans, dishes and utensils to meet your needs. A microwave and toaster are provided. Towels and linens are provided. Laundry facilities are also available, free of charge, including an iron and ironing board, but you will need to provide your own coffee pot, detergent, dish soap/towels, toiletries, garbage bags, toilet paper, etc.Medical students

I suggest that you bring your own pillow and an additional blanket. While we provide pillows, they are plastic covered. Please do not call and request one unit over the other.

Computer Access:Computer and internet access is available in all housing units. All bedrooms in Swift Creek have been wired for computer access. The townhouses offer wireless access. Computer access is available to students in the Medical Education Office and the Health Sciences Library 24 hours a day seven days a week.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high volume of students at Gundersen Health System, housing is provided for the student only. No spouse/significant other/partner, or children are allowed. No pets are allowed, not even for visits, in or around our housing complex.
