Cystic Fibrosis Research

The UW Hospital and Clinics is designated as a Cystic Fibrosis Care Center for both Adult and Pediatric Patients.  

Dr. Trina Hollatz serves as Director for the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program, with Dr. Keith Meyer as co-Director. Dr. Michael Rock serves as overall Care Center Director, and Director of the Pediatic Care Center. 

Dr. Meyer conducts research on Cystic Fibrosis in both clinical and laboratory settings.  Recent and ongoing projects include:  projects focusing on new therapies targeting airway inflammation, infection and the function of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane regulator (CFTR),  the role of gastroesophageal reflux in CF lung disease, and the role of annexins and phospholipases in lung inflammation.
