NEW!!! Updated for 97-98
Eau Claire North High School has
a tradition of having one of the finest forensics programs in the state
of Wisconsin. We have won numerous awards
and students from North consistently represent Wisconsin at the national
tournament. Read about the Oratory
Dynasty for more.
Forensics is a competitive activity, divided into two basic disciplines: speech and acting. There are 15 categories - 7 interperative and 8 speech. After preparing and practicing with a coach, students compete at tournaments by performing in front of a judge and other competitors for 3 or more rounds. Students often compete in more than one category per tournament. Competitors are ranked and scored, and the top finishers within the same category compete in the final rounds. Team awards are given to schools based on the overall performance of all (or the top 25) individual entries.
This web site presents some of the events, achievements, and people of the North High forensics program. There's a few inside jokes that won't be understood unless you were at the event, but hopefully you can see that we're a talented and fun group.
