What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
My primary interest is practicing outstanding clinical Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine. Just starting out my career, I currently see myself as a generalist within my specialty, but I do have an interest in using health Informatics to improve care delivery.

What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
My wife, Maggie Nolan, and I were looking for a great opportunity to advance both our careers at a strong academic medical center. She is completing her residency in Preventive Medicine.

What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I’m most eager to get to know all the different areas of expertise among the Department of Medicine faculty and being able to meet everyone and put a face to the names. Everyone has been very friendly and welcoming so far.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Spending time with my wife and two (soon to be three) children. And mountain biking at several great parks in and around the Madison area.
