Dr. Diane Elson obtained her MD with honors from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1985. She completed both a residency and internship in internal medicine at the Blodgett Memorial Medical Center at St Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Elson moved to Wisconsin in 1989, where she completed both a fellowship in the Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes division and a research fellowship in the geriatrics section at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (UWHC). She joined the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health as a Clinical Assistant Professor in 1992.
Dr. Elson now serves as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine. She also participates as an attending physician in the UW Multidisciplinary Pituitary clinic. Dr. Elson's professional interests include thyroid disorders including thyroid cancer, pituitary disease and diabetes management. She currently serves as the associate director for the Endocrine fellowship program.
