Professional Activities

Dr. Ann Braus is a faculty member in the Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology in the Department of Medicine. As a clinical geriatrician, she provides medical care for older adults in inpatient and outpatient settings, and in long-term care facilities. As a medical educator, Dr. Braus provides classroom and clinical instruction to medical students, residents and fellows and continuing medical education instruction about topics in geriatric medicine to practicing providers. She is a medical director at Capitol Lakes skilled nursing facility in Madison. She is on the board of the Wisconsin Medical Directors Association and is a member of the Post-Acute and Long Term Care Society, American Geriatrics Society, the American Association for Family Physicians, and the Wisconsin Association for Family Physicians.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Braus’ clinical interests include geriatric and post-acute/long-term care medicine, polypharmacy, dementia, pre-operative evaluation, delirium, falls prevention, and transitions of care.

Research Interests

Dr. Braus' scholarly publications have focused on initiatives to promote interprofessional learning in geriatric medicine and facilitate effective transitions of care.
