Professional Activities

Dr. Nilay Kumar is a faculty member in the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. As a hospitalist, Dr. Kumar focuses on providing care to adults in inpatient settings. He is a member of the American Heart Association and the scientific honorary society Sigma Xi. Dr. Kumar has served as a peer reviewer for several medical journals including Circulation, the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, the American Heart Journal, the American Journal of Cardiology, and Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Kumar is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. In addition, he is certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and is certified by the American Society of Hypertension as a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension.

Dr. Kumar’s clinical interests include hospital medicine, internal medicine, hypertension, and procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, and lumbar puncture.
