Dr. Francisco Castro is a faculty member in the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. As a hospitalist, Dr. Castro focuses on providing care to adult patients in inpatient settings. Dr. Castro is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) and the American College of Physicians. He serves as UW Health Department of Corrections Medical Director, a role that involves acting as a medical liaison between UW Health and leadership of the state Department of Corrections to facilitate appropriate and efficient medical care for inmates while maintaining security. Dr. Castro also leads a regular conference for fourth-year medical students rotating through their acting internship in medicine, and serves as a mentor to undergraduate students seeking shadowing experiences in Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Castro’s clinical interests include hospital medicine and internal medicine.
