Professional Activities

Dr. Gauri Bhutani is a faculty member in the Division of Nephrology within the Department of Medicine. As a clinical nephrologist, Dr. Bhutani cares for people living with a wide range of renal diseases and disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including dialysis clinics. Dr. Bhutani is a member of the American Medical Assocation (AMA) and the American Society of Nephrology (ASN). As a medical educator, she has provided classroom and clinical instruction on a variety of nephrology topics to medical students, residents, and nephrology fellows as well as continuing medical education presentations to clinicians.

Clinical Specialties

Dr. Bhutani’s clinical interests include nephrology, hypertension, transplant medicine, internal medicine, and critical care medicine.

Dr. Bhutani has conducted clinical research studies on topics including proliferative glomerulonephritis from monoclonal gammopathy, renal thrombotic microangiopathy and polycystic kidney disease. She has also conducted quality improvement projects on chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and translational research on urinary biomarkers in primary hyperoxaluria.
