Dr. Schnell currently serves as general internist at UW Health and a faculty member in the Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and the Wisconsin Medical Society. Dr. Schnell has received numerous honors and awards including the Larry Crocker, MD Generalism Award (2014), which recognizes a physician who embodies excellence in skilled and compassionate patient care. Academic achievements include the Dr. Katherine Kulak Scholarship, Glasgow-Rubin Certificate of Commendation for Academic Achievement, nomination to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Shapiro Research Excellence Award, and a Community Book Award. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Schnell teaches first- and second-year medical students in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health Patient, Doctor and Society course.
Dr. Schnell's clinical interests include internal medicine. She has presented clinical talks on screening and intervention for intimate partner violence and co-presented on prostate cancer screening in the primary care setting.
