What does being a chief resident mean to you?
When I think of what it means to be a chief resident, I can't help but think of all the amazing people who have come before me in this role! I think the best chief residents that I have worked with are the ones that are willing to put in the time and effort to advocate for the residents in the program. I'm honored to be chosen in this role because it means I get to listen to my fellow residents, encourage their educational and professional growth, and help ensure their overall wellbeing so they can succeed in residency and in their future careers.

What are you most looking forward to as a chief?
I'm excited to work with my fellow co-chiefs: Amy, Kelsey, and Mike! They are wonderful human beings who are compassionate, hardworking, and thoughtful. I am also looking forward to working with the education team and growing my teaching skillset.

What’s your favorite part of the UW internal medicine residency?
I know it's trite to say that the residents are the best part of our residency program, but it's absolutely the truth. I am always impressed by the care that my fellow residents provide to their patients and the kindness that they show to one another. We are lucky to have such wonderful people in our program and I'm so thankful to be a part of the UW Health community!
