One of the major goals of the Cardiovascular Medicine program at the University of Wisconsin is to transmit knowledge to others and improve the delivery of specialty care in rural hospitals and clinics. To accomplish this, the Cardiovascular Medicine Division has developed an extensive lecture series available to referring hospitals and physicians. UW physicians with subspecialty training and experience are available to present continuing medical education lectures in all areas of clinical cardiology. They speak on topics ranging from preventive cardiology to heart failure, dysrhythmias and acute coronary syndromes.
The faculty also serve as leaders in continuing medical education. Recent courses directed by the Cardiovascular Medicine Division include:
- Peter S. Rahko, MD, Director, UW Cardiovascular Medicine and Prevention Update for Primary Care Symposium
- Amish Raval, MD, Director, Wisconsin Transcatheter Valve Symposium
- James H. Stein, MD, Co-Director, UW Cardiovascular Medicine and Prevention Update for Primary Care Symposium
